Eric Frith (producer,writer, director, editor) creates films that have screened at top festivals including Sundance, Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), South by Southwest (SXSW), Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) and many, many others around the world. These projects have received numerous awards and been acquired for distribution, both nationally and internationally, by Miramax, Dream Entertainment, Cinema Management Group, Off the Fence, Independent Lens, American Masters PBS, and Phase 4 Films.

Most recently, Eric served as editor and co-writer for the documentary The Breach which premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh 2014 where it won best international feature documentary, From the Sky which premiered at SIFF 2014 and won the international humanitarian award at the Rhode Island Film Festival. Eric’s latest release, Song of the New Earth which he edited and co-wrote, screened at 2014 SIFF and the Illuminate Festival and is now screening theatrically around the U.S.

In 2013 Eric edited Finding Hillywood which premiered at SIFF, screened at over 30 other film festivals winning two best doc awards and one audience award. He edited director Megan Griffiths’ Eden (2012), which premiered at SXSW, won the audience award, along with 1st runner up for best film at SIFF, and then was distributed by Phase 4 Films. In 2011 Eric co-produced, co-wrote and edited A Lot Like You, which premiered at SIFF, screened at festivals around the world winning 6 best Doc awards. Eric also edited The Heart of the Game (2005) which premiered at TIFF, was distributed by Miramax, and heralded as “…an Oscar level piece of work” by film critics Ebert & Roeper.

Eric co-edited Deep Burial, starring Dominic Monaghan, Tom Sizemore, and Sarah Habel which is due for completion in 2016 and he is the consulting editor for Megan Griffiths’ new film Night Stalker starring Lou Diamond Phillips and Bellamy Young due for release in 2016.

Eric has also created corporate marketing and media (Microsoft, Starbucks, WaMu, AT&T, among others).He started out in the film and video business as co-owner of Bent Nail Productions, where he directed projects for clients such as R.E.I., Columbia Sportswear, and Seattle Arts Museum/African American Heritage Museum.

In the early nineties Eric’s love of editing led him to focus on post production; he became Post Production Supervisor/Editor for Seattle based Merwin Creative and later held the same position for Cesari Response Television. With these companies, Eric was post supervisor/editor for programs airing on every major network station as well as Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Lifetime, Bravo and PBS and for clients such as Microsoft, Compaq, Discovery Health Channel and Clorox.In 2002 Eric became a principal in Byrd Productions, and directs,writes, produces and edits for the company. Also a history of teaching at 911 Media Arts Center and SIFF.
